Woodside Getaway

A wooded retreat in bark, moss, and firelight — deep textures and low, easy seating meant for slow weekends.

Woodside Getaway mood board — forest greens, bark browns, chunky wool, leather, stone, and warm firelight tones

The Concept

Designed for the house at the end of a gravel road. Colors come straight off the tree line: bark, moss, lichen, and the amber of a fire that's been going all evening. Everything is meant to be sat in with wet boots on.

Materials & Finishes

  • Chunky hand-loomed wool and nubby bouclé
  • Full-grain leather with visible pull-up
  • Rough-sawn oak and walnut with live edges
  • Fieldstone hearth and slate accents
  • Blackened steel and hand-thrown stoneware

Styling Notes

  1. 01Sit low. Deep seats and a generous ottoman set the whole mood.
  2. 02Layer two rugs — a flatweave under a sheepskin or shag.
  3. 03Use lamps, not overheads. Three warm pools of light beat one bright one.
  4. 04Let wood show its grain; skip high-gloss anything.
  5. 05Bring the outside in with foraged branches rather than florals.
